Migration to UTF-8 went wrong.
The migration to UTF-8 isn't going as planed. A lot of problems, but it should be done in a few hours.

I went to bed hoping that Elftown would be..uhmm.."alive and breathing somewhat" by morning and it's not...is this a repeat of that huge crash or just another minor breakdown? hopefully the latter...

It was back for a while last night, but computers are tempremental. Why not check out some of Elfwood's livejournal communities while it's down?

Dude... I passed up a day at the water park to talk to some friends on elftown (plus I was already sunburnt and flat broke lol) and I come home and find that it's down! *sigh* I'm such a loser. :P

Last night ET actually came back up for about an hour. It was awesome! ...except almost nobody else was on, and then it died again. *sits here clicking refresh over and over* I hope it's up again soon, but if not... there had better be another hour where it comes up and dies, cuz otherwise I'll have all this free time to realize how much of an ET junkie I am... and that I really need some therapy!

Its not like hedda intentionally took ET offline to cause you all demise! (or did he...)
Just quit complaining about it and find something else to do. We all miss it, but it will be back sooner or later, and all your friends will be happy to talk to you again.

I think I could make some money by starting an Elftown withdrawal center. With people reacting like this, the government might make it a controlled substance....and therefore illegal.

Remaining calm .. . strangely, there IS life outside of Elftown. :P

Yet I can't wait for ET to be back fully on-line. I really wish I could help, but my computer skills aren't that great.

Anyhow, best of luck, and I hope people quit bugging Thomas Abrahamsson about it, on his Elfwood F & SF page. I think he's rather too busy maintaining Elfwood to be of direct assistance to Hedda.

And yes, I am sure Whim will have plenty to say on [The Elftown Crash Site@wiki] ;-)

Incidentally, I noticed that if you log on to www.baltbalt.com (The new Russian-language sister site to Elftown that's still in its infancy), you get logged out of Elftown. Both sites are currently down.
